We are having a great time. Ryan LOVES the water as do the other 2. We head for the desert tomorrow. Then it is back to the beach.

Weekend Plans

Lots to do, lots to do. We leave on Wednesday for vacation and I have to start packing. Good thing I can just pack most of the clothes now since we aren't wearing shorts/tanks here! Ryan is having a bad couple of days. I think his teeth are really hurting him. He just sobs for no apparent reason and then he stops. The tantrums are getting to be a bit much though. This too shall pass right?
I worked an extra day this past week so now I don't have to take ANY PTO for our vacation. Yay!
Don't know if I will get to posting before we leave, but look for vaca pics on Thursday. Yay warm!

Mrs. Crabby Pants

Man, I have just been on a roll haven't I? Things are looking up, vacation is less then a week away, work is busy and I like busy, and the best thing is that I have a hair appointment tonight. Can I get an AMEN!! Just need to get my toes done before vacation and pack and then we are ready to go. :)

Labels

I hate labels. I mean I really hate labels. I believe that a child is born with gifts, and those gifts may not be the same ones I wanted them to have or that others think they should have, but it is what it is. You work with what you get, good or bad, hard or easy. You don't just wish the problem away, you work around it and work with it.

With each child you experience challenges, some easy, some not so easy, but you make it through them. Sometimes though, you just get beat down. This last challenge is beating me down and keeping me up at night crying in bed. I don't like labels, especially ones that make all the hard work we have been putting in look like nothing.

Do you like my eye patch? Momma thinks it is kind of boring, so she is ordering some off the internet that are really cool. Good thing I only have to wear it 6 hours a day, I can barely stand to have it on.

What a day, and it's only 1pm!

We found out today that Ryan will be having surgery on his left eye to tighten the muscles. He has no depth perception in that eye and it will be a very minor surgery it sounds like. He will need a patch over the good eye for a few hours during the day to see if it improves anything. At the same appointment it was suggested to us again that Ryan gets speech therapy started. So we have a consult next week.
Ryan has been fighting a nasty cold, worse than anyone he has had so far. His has the saddest little cough and runny nose. Last night he slept with me in my bed and I thought with all the pillows he would be fine, but nope. I heard BOOM in the middle of the night as he fell out of the bed. So it's off we go to get a bed rail so THAT doesn't happen again. Poor kid.
I just got the most delightful good news a few minutes ago. One of my friends from my adoption group has just had her baby! The birthmother gave birth at 12:30p to a lovely little girl. YAY! Our group is growing with babys everymonth.

Duh!

Yep, that is Ryan's new word. Great word huh? Can you tell he lives in the same house as 2 teens?

Bailey started her paper route today and it was a little rocky even though the person that worked for the paper went with her. Hopefully we don't have to deliver any more papers tonight as it is raining, but if we do, we do.

Chandler has a birthday tomorrow and we told him he could get a lizard for his birthday. Well he has decided today is close enough and is trying to talk me in to going today. Little does he know he will be getting help to pay for it tomorrow, so I am trying to tell him no. He is working on a science project that is due Friday and he is regulating his lizard tank temperature. (Thanks to alot of help from my dad).

Snow again......

We are in the middle of a huge snowstorm again. I was hoping to get out to do some shopping for curtains for the living room, but I am all snuggled in tight in the house. Oh well. I suppose I should start sorting through toys and such and tackle more laundry. Why does the couch and remote look so inviting??????

Yep, still alive, but barely..........

This is been the week from you know where. I work in a nursing home where the state comes and visits once a year and then gives you their rating for the year. Last year was not such a great year for the nursing home where I work, but this year we were hoping for better....much better.
It was a stressful work week that involved my PT job not being so PT, but we made it through. From what we are hearing it was a much better survey, and our social services office didn't have any dings. Last year there we some, so that is an improvement by alot.
I have had lots on my plate, but it has all worked out thanks to help from Aaron and the kids. Ryan has had a good week going to daycare lots as well.
Tonight we had school conferences and got good reports on the kids. 2 kids takes 2 hours for conferences and Ryan was a trooper for the whole time.
Tomorrow I have the day off to catch up...YAY...and start decompressing from the week.
